Mount Bromo, still a very active volcano and is well known as an
iconic attraction in East Java. Located in Bromo Tengger Semeru National
Park or to the east of the city of Malang. This mountain offers
spectacular views of the valley in the form of a sea of sand area of
5250 hectares, and is located at an altitude of about 2,100 m above sea
level. No doubt if the mountain is a prime tourist spot in East Java

Mount Bromo is in the area of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, and
is the only conservation area in Indonesia which has a unique form of
sand sea at an altitude of 2,100 meters. Having a sub-montane
ecosystems, montane and sub-Alphin with various types of fauna in it.
There are about 137 species of birds, 22 species of mammals and 4
species of reptile in this national park.

Located in four regions, namely Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Lumajang and
Malang. Apparently, to the flagship sand sea, Mount Bromo has a crater
diameter of 800 meters (north-south) and 600 meters (east-west). At the
foot of the mountain, there is a temple which is used for religious
ceremonies and local communities. You can walk around through the desert
while enjoying the scenery on horseback or using a rented jeep.
Bromo, in ancient Javanese language or Sangsakerta, means Brahma, one
of the Hindu gods. Mount Bromo by the local indigenous population, the
Tengger tribe, believed Bromo to be a sacred mountain. They routinely
perform a traditional ceremony called Yadnya Kasada or Kasodo. The
annual ceremony is done by throwing offerings of vegetables, chicken,
and money into the crater as a form of gratitude to the gods. Kasada
usually held in September-November, and has managed to invited many
visitors to come to Mount Bromo.
Mount Bromo has a breezy fresh air and is quite cold. In the vicinity
of Mount Tengger stand also, Batok and Mount Semeru is the highest
mountain in Java. If you want to experience the beauty of Bromo is the

How to get there?
To get to Mount Bromo, you can travel by air or ground to the city of
Malang.When you have arrived in Malaang, you can take the route of
Malang - Tumpang - Gubuk Klakah - Jemplang - Mount Bromo, which is 53
km.Or it could be Malang - Purwodadi - Nongkojajar - Tosari - Wonokitri -
Penanjakan, within 83 miles.Upon arrival, you can rent a horse at a
cost of about 80 thousand rupiah, rent a car, or walk under a sea of
sand.The ride was quite tiring but the stunning scenery would pay it
off.
